Altered Measure begins with Edward, the lead singer of rock band Breaking Dawn, taking Bella's virginity backstage after a concert. She makes her escape from this one-night stand and heads home. Neither think they'll see the other again.
Bella finds out she is pregnant and attempts to contact Edward, but every letter she sends is responded to with a form letter and autograph picture. Bella loses hope of contacting Edward to let him know he'll be a father. At some point, an intern comes across Bella's last letter and it makes its way to Edward.
The story focuses on Edward and Bella navigating their new relationship as co-parents, and eventually as romantic partners.
This is one of my favorite types of fanfiction. I'm a sucker for romance and family with just enough drama thrown in to make it interesting. This fic is in my favorites list and I'll likely read it again. My only complaint is that the story seemed a bit rushed and ended too soon after E & B finally got together. I would have like to see more of their romantic relationship. I'm hoping for some out takes in the future!
